The View from My Garden Window

I love summer in the northwest. One of the things I enjoy is all of the flowers we have in our yard. I love looking at them through my garden window. The problem with this picture is that you can only see the sunflowers that are growing right next to the window and not all the others. (By the way, we didn't plant the sunflowers, the birds did!)

So I got closer to the window. You can see roses, hibiscus, portulaca, clematis, gerbera daisies, dahlias, black eyed susans, snapdragons, lobelia, and mabye even a wave petunia (it is there, but I'm not sure if you can see it in this picture). Lower in the picture are sweet peas and bouganvilla that are finished flowering for this year. Unfortunately, the picture doesn't show how beautiful and vivid the colors of the flowers are. Also in this picture are our three cats--Kitters (on the stone), Mahana (on the grass by the stones that are tilted up) and Simba (at the very bottom of the picture). The tricycle is still on the lawn from Katy's visit last week. You can also see our 2 swingsets and our trampoline. What a wonderful view!

We have several hanging baskets, and Mike usually plants all of them. This year is busy for him as Young Men's president, so I have done more of the flower planting than I normally do. Here is one of the baskets I planted. In the center is a dahlia, on the left is lobelia and on the right is trailing verbeena.
